    Hi there all afterDawn members,

I am using DVD Fab express and have never had a problem with my
    back ups.
That is until i tried to backup Bad Boys 2,
DVD fab went through the whole procedure but neither the PC
or my DVD player could read the disc.
    has anyone experienced this?

this could be because of the media or burn speed.
what media did you use & what speed did you burn at?
i backed up bad boys 2 & dont recall having any problems (it has been a while).
what program did you burn with ?
make sure your firmware is up to date

i used traxdata 4x and i also tried ridata 8x
The software I am using is DVDFab Platinum express
and has always worked fine with the above media.
the write speed in fab settings only gives 3 options,
    Recommended, fastest, and slowest.
I have it set at recommended.
the write type is set to packet writing.

rip the movie with fab then try using another software like nero or alcohol 120 to burn then you can set burn speed to 4X,
try using some taiyo yuden, verbatim, or sony (made in japan) discs if you still get burn failure with different program.
i think this is a media problem. did you check if your firmware is up to date?

@DVDDerek......Gjl2002 gave you prety good advise.... I too think it's the media used. I have no idea what manufacturer ID [bold}traxdata[/bold] is! A good rule to follow is to buy media MADE IN JAPAN and you can't go wrong! [bold]Bad Boys 2[/bold] was nothing special to copy..... by the way.... what version of DVDFab Platinum are you using? last updated on 2/12/06 to version 2.9.7.2. also right before it burns to disk it asks you what speed to burn! Use 4x... at this speed will ensure your drive and players to read the disc.
