What brand name/format/and speed rating of media do you use?

How fast do you burn the first backups?

Do you backup entire dvd or main movie only?

Those maxell +8x's should be very good,I burn quite a bit of them.

That's weird how your blade backup is recognized as a cd.

I've done all 3 titles, using main movie only and had no issues re-ripping them with nero,on the fly. I keep my burn speed at 4x,too fast may cause issues.I also keep my backup target at 4360 mbs in dvd shrink.I've done over 200+ re-rips on the fly with 0 coasters using the combination of 4x burn speed/quality media/and backup target 4360 mbs.

Use nero. They have an option of burning a disc if you have the source. In your case it would be the movie in the dvd-rom and a blank dvd into the burner. You don't have to use nero but I was using that as an example.
