Just use the same hard drive for both machines. You'll still keep everything you've earned from both machines.

I also assume that downloadable content works the same way? Download it to the hard drive with the live-xbox then move the hard drive to the modded one, and the games can access it?

yup yup! somethings like downloaded movie and shows will be blocked unless a xboxlive connection is made, but otherwise anything downloaded or any game saves will be moved over with the switch of HDDs

I'm new to all this and I want to get my facts Straight.

1- I'f I play backups that are 'stealthed' with the two files mentioned, I will be able to play on Live, but will most probably get banned after some time.

2-I'm broke so even if I save my money, I can only buy one 360, and I am planning on modding it. Will this mean that even if I make an xbox live gamertag, for achievements and so on, and play backups, I'm still very likely to get banned.

3-The only way to play backups without getting banned is not to use a gamertag/xbox live in any way ??? :(

Thanks You have answered many of the questions of 14 year old in the desert, new to the 360 scene

WHat happens once you get banned? Can you access the market place or anything?

    1. Yes
    2. Yes
    3. Well, it's not your account which would be banned, only the console. So you can use the same gamertag, and even the same hard drive if your console did happen to get banned. You would just have to use them on a different console to access LIVE.

No. Once a console is banned, it can't access anything related to LIVE.

What about the console is BANNED? I had a dead xbox 360. I'm wondering what component is banned, so maybe I could do a swap if my new 360 ever got banned. Make sense?

Yea, makes sence. But it's the console ID which is banned.

I wonder if the console ID could be swapped out with another, then... that's what I'm wondering... and where that info is saved. I'm sure it's hard to do, but I wanna know HOW hard and if a dead 360 could help out a banned 360.

Well you can swap your console ID, but the dead 360 is useless. You'd need a working 360 with a working dvd drive.

getting banned is a lot like a game of cards.........the only difference is that the dealer always wins, its just a matter of time..........

Not sure about that. A lot of people have said that the GAME ITSELF may be what causes you to get banned... if it's an original game, you may be fine... but don't quote me on that... just what I THOUGH i've heard

even if it is the game, it still logs the information when he plays his burnt games offline, and as soon as he gets online with the original its going to send all that info to MS, and will lead to a banning eventually.

The first post said that the game information is saved to the 360 and then microsoft can see all of that info.

Ok what if I take my harddrive off. And I disconnect the network cable. Then put in a backup of a game.

That disc info wont be able to be saved anywhere.

Then after i play the backup, say I wanna play COD4 on lIVE. Can I turn console off, put hard drive on, and connect network cable.

If i did all of this would i still get banned?

information (logs) are not stored on the hard drive, they are stored else where on the console...........so ya playing a backup off-line still runs the risk.... as soon you hook up to live those logs will be sent:p you can try all the 1337 tricks you want but you still can't lower the risk of being banned....well i suppose the less live connections you make....

ok i need something cleared up if thats ok :)

    Question:

If i were to get a flashed second console to play games on
if i never hooked this up to live and only used it to play backups on
with the HDD from my original xbox would i be able to update any acchivements i get from backup online using my current xbox and gamer tag (switching hard drives over etc)?

would i be able to get banned?
