I've got a platinum gamecube with the Viper chip installed (professionally). I flashed it with the Cobra 1.2 bios and the ripper. Games will rip just fine, but when I burn them to play the cube does not recognize them. My POT is adjusted to about 180. I've tried it at 170, 165, 220. Nothing is working. I've tried the mini Ricoh G04s and some type of normal sized sonys. Any suggestions?

Oh, and the burners I've tried are the Plextor 716A and the Lite-On 811s.
I used Nero and CloneDVD to burn the images.

What kind of error message do you get? Maybe we're having the same problem. Sometimes I will start the gamecube, and then the qoob will say loading dvd or reading dvd, and then the dvd stops spinning, and I get '...' for a while, then it says disc read error. What happens to you?

No... it just says please insert a gamecube disc. This is a Viper problem not a Qoob one... but I'm sure the answers could be similar.

Supposedly Ritek DVD-Rs are the best for this sort of thing. I ordered some a few days ago. When they arrive I'll tell you guys if they help at all.

Yeah that was a typo... I meant Ritek in my first post. I got the Office Depot brand media and they just happened to be Ritek G04's... which I've heard are top quality.

So I got my pack of Riteks today. I opened the box, pulled out the 25-pack, and twisted it open. A faint, bizarre scent eminated from the discs, as if they had some special power that I did not know of. I popped one into my DVD burner, burned Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! 3! on it, and placed it oh so gingerly on my gamecube spindle. Hoping against hope, I reached for the power button and pushed it. Almost immediately, the game started. Flawless. Absolutely flawless. When you smell the smell of the Ritek DVDs, you will know the power as well. :D

Edit note: My POT is about 200 right now. Just fyi.

Are the office depot riteks basically crap then? Maybe the normal riteks are a lot better. I hope it's not my cube.

It probably isn't your cube. That's what I thought at first, but then I made a leap of faith and tried the Riteks, and they exceeded my expectations :D

felixito, actually the Office depot ones are also ritek G04. The disk fall under three brand names: Office Depot, Ritek and Ridata. I ordered the G05 because my friend uses them and his backups work in mine. You should be ok with the office depot media.

Well with several different POT settings they are not working at all. I don't know what else to do. I'm going to go buy some other different types of media, transfer a new iso from my cube to the computer and try again. i just don't understand why riteks are working for everyone else but not me. hopefully it's just a corrupt iso. (even though it IS the correct size)

I hade the some problem with my qoob pro.
You need to ues DVD-R this qoob pro because dvd+r dosnĀ“t suport direct boot.
And if you havent packed up the whit ex. winrar you need to do that and then change the fil name from .gcm to .iso and burn as imagen in nero
