    Hey,
I'm running a win2k box and i've been trying to get a couple avi and mpeg movies i have to play.
When i open them in any program (WMP9/Winamp 5.21/VLC) the audio quality is horrible. It plays almost all in the left speaker and has lots of static over the normal audio.

I know it's not the movies themselves, because they play fine on another box.

    Any ideas?

EDIT: I uninstalled the MPEG Audio codec then reinstalled it. It checks out in GSpot and AVIcodec. Then i uninstalled my Sound Blaster 16 PnP driver, then reinstalled that.

Still nothing. AVI or MPG files have very bad static and feedback issues. All other files play fine, WMV/MP3/WMA still no luck.
