I actually have 2 problems. I have been burning for a wile with only dvd shrink and nero with no problems on 100's of dvds. Then all the sudden when im watching the burned dvds the last half hour is messed up its looks like something in the encoding, it will freeze/skip. I tried it in other dvd players, same thing.I dont think its the disks cuz it started about half way through a 100 spindle in witch the first half was fine. My other problem is when i play any dvd in my pc i get video but no sound on original and burned dvds. Any help would be gratefull.
I am using Nextech dvd+r wich i have had no problem with till now, as for the burn speed im still kinda new so im not sure how to find that i do know that nero is set on maximum burn speed.
try a better media brand like taiyo yuden, verbatim, sony (made in japan) or similar, as this may be the cause of the problem. when burning a dvd it is recommended that you bur at 1/2 the dvd/drive speed i.e 16X burner 16X discs burn at 8X. this may also be part of your problem. although some of your burns have worked, this is usually the case with "cheaper" media, but in 6-12 months even the sucsessful burns usually tend to stop working. Quality media is a must. i hope this helps
i will adjust the speed thanks. But when you say (in 6-12 months even the sucsessful burns usually tend to stop working.) Do you mean if i burn with bad media or at a high speed it could play fine at first then the same disk could mess up down the road. Thank you very much for all your help on this.
usually if burned to "cheaper" media after time it will just stop working. i have had this (with several burns) & so have others on these forums. "quality " media is usually easy to find on special offer in stores & does not cost much more than the un-named/cheaper media. even if it is a little more expensive, it is well worth it in the long run. cheap media can be the cause of so many problems - i learnt the hard way :-( i hope this helps
i will give it a try thank you. like i said in my first post i am also having trouble playing dvds (copies and original) on my pc i get video but no sound, could this have something to do with the decoder wich i belive would be nero?
I jave used media player, quicktime, power dvd, and i think there was another i tried but i cant remember. It was the same for all ,video but no sound.
