I was backing up my copy of Capote, everything seemed to be going okay, I used fabdvd decrypter and then clonedvd 2. During the burn process a message came up saying that I had "bad media", which seems kind of far-fetched, as I use Verbatim +R 16x (and rarely have problems with them), but I usually burn at 4x just to make sure it burns (I dont really care that it takes a few minutes longer). I'm using a Lite-On sohw-1693 S. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
Even Verbatim and Ty will kick out a bad disk from time to time, you weren't multitasking during the burn were you??? Try another disk and see what happens. Try burning at 8X, seems to deliver better burns.
I actually got it to work. I just had to update to the newer version of clode and anydvd. I should have tried that before I posted, my fault. Thanks for the help
Well if it happens agains. It could just be badly pressed media, even TY's amd Verts bring out some bad stuff sometimes.
I am having the same issue with bad media. I know the media is good because I can use Nero to burn just fine. I recently purchased Clone DVD and now I am having burn issues. When I had the trial version there were no issues. I have a Sony external hard drive dual layer. Any ideas on how to fix the writing issue? I hate to have spent 75 dollars for nothing.
This is the error message it give me when I look at the detail. WriteDVD 10 11 W2 Slysoft gave me a response but I could not figure out what he was telling me to do to fix it. Below is their response to me. "That means that the writer reported a burning error to the software and stopped the burn process. This is either caused by bad blanks or another CD/DVD software interfering in the writing process. When the writer gets a signal from another CD/DVD program ignoring the safety protocols it stops immediately because it cannot perform two writing processes at once. DirectCD, Roxio Audio Studio, Nero InCD/BackItUp, MyCD, PlexTools, B's Clip, RecordNow, Simple Backup and special burner software is known to occasionally disturb other writing programs. Regarding the blanks we'd like to suggest that you only use those brands that are recommended by the writer's manufacturer" My dilemma with this response is I have not installed any other software on my computer except the SlySoft Clone CD and Mobile DVD.
