I had a computer auto update to WMP 11 today and it totally shot the DVD playback. The system is running XP Pro with Nero Essentials 7.0 and was using the Nero DVD codec for playback through WMP. I've tried rolling back the install, system restore, uninstalling WMP & Nero and doing it over again, and it refuses to integrate with WMP again. Now, I cannot even get a DVD to play in Nero Showtime. I get some crazy errors telling me that it cannot build graph? and that it may be installed incorrectly. This is OEM software, I'm supposed to be able to put in the disc, run setup through autoplay, and like magic it works. No dice. I've even tried running XP Codec Pack and it still wouldn't play through. Running dvdupgrd /detect in windows shows me that I have NeVideo.ax installed but WMP will not load this now. In WMP 11 Options>DVD>Advanced> I have two tabs: NeAudio2 & About. These appear on other systems with the same setup and they populate information about the decoder and they all work fine. This one is now missing all of it's information. How can I integrate the dvd playback - back - into WMP? Please help.
You can try this decoder. It can be uninstalled. You might also want to search for 'stinky's' decoder. http://www.deskshare.com/download/mpeg2decoder.exe
