Hi everyone, abgx360 is showing all my wxripper rips as bad rips but everthing elec is fine. I searched up a fix for this, I found bad ss patcher, but it causes people to get banned from xbox live. I saw on another forum that ixtreme 1.4 and up fixes this error, so does that mean I'm ok to burn my games? Thanks Adam
its my understanding that if you rip your own games you dont need abgx because you can verify its retail and not a scene release.
yes but using the wxripper mothod which rips the game without the secret sectors. So I am patching the game with the secret sectors in abgx360.
I had this problem when I used Wxripper with my COD4, I used LOTR Two Towers for the base DVD which is I think 7.4GBs and when I ran the COD4 .ISO through ABGX360 it gave me all green except the game CRC and it said "it might be bad rip" in red text. My solution was just biting the bullet and wasting a good DVD-DL disc and burning 7.6GBs worth of useless files, music, and junk and using that as my DVD base for Wxripper. So it might be the DVD you used is too small or something else, hope that helped.
When you rip with wxripper it never extracts the ss files. so when you run thru abgx the first time with autofix level 3 set it will inject all those files. So i scan once with abgx to inject files and then scan again to make sure it all went smoothly. Never had a bad rip doing this so far, except some weird errors that turned out to be false alarm. It could be the drive you are ripping with. If you have another laying around try to use it and see if you get same results. Also are you editing the layout file correctly when you rip? as in the first three lines set to dummy.
This is the layout file I'm using (Back to the Future Part 3) C19408 D1072 D109344 C1783936 J148800 C1783936 J0 I might try what you said shcklfrd. Cause the disc I'm using is only 7.54
to use wxripper the layput file from the dvd movie must be edited so that the first 3 are all dummy With the layout opened in wordpad you should have something like this... C19408 D1072 C109344 C1783936 J341120 C1783936 J0 Change the first 3 lines so they start with the Capital letter D. Like this... D19408 D1072 D109344 C1783936 J341120 C1783936 J0 i got this from another tut copied and pasted. also if your hotswap disc is too small wxripper should give a message indicating that, mine did anyway.
What I did was just get a DVD+RDL and tried to get as much files and useless junk on it to be over 7.8GB, I failed and only got 7.6GB but I guess it was fine for the games I used it with. (Try filling the whole disc if you got the files) After that I just: Put the 7.6GB or larger disc in drive, Let it load, Hit stop drive, Remove cover or Circular Magnet, Swap discs, Put cover or Magnet back on, Hit the spin drive button, Let it spin for a bit and then hit find Magic Number button, then from the guides I seen it says change the 3rd C in the file to D and save it. I don't know if changing the top 3 lines to D does anything but I haven't had problems. Load layout you saved and start dumping, run through ABGX and you should be good to go. Example: Beginning Layout C19408 D1072 C109344 C1783936 J341120 C1783936 J0 End Layout C19408 D1072 D109344 C1783936 J341120 C1783936 J0
ok well it doesnt work that way i already told you what to do. WTF is with noobs asking for advice and when you tell them how to do it they still want to do it the wrong way??????? do you think i am lieing??? I know this cause i have went thru all this before i found the tuts that say you change the 3rd line or whatever but guess what it didnt work for me then like it doesnt work for you now. let me guess it was cereals tutorial right? i found different tut that said do the first 3 lines and it has worked for me ever since then from the first time i tried it. http://forums.xbox-scene.com/lofiversion/index.php/t488096.html use that tut the reason why some drives work with only the 3rd line is cause all dvd drives are not the same some will read and some wont.
Calm down, I know your trying to help. Just telling you my trial and error experience with the program is all. I used this tutorial : http://360mods.net/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=11939&highlight=wxripper. And others similar to it, CoFree's, etc. (I just Googled tutorials that were available, all were slightly different, copy and pasted from somewhere else, or were more detailed.) The tutorial in the link is where it told me about the DVD disc size to use and I apologize, because I did not know some drives needed both 1 and 3rd line to be changed to D. Mine just needed 3rd line to be changed and worked. If your DVD Drive is one of the few like my DVD Drive and only need line 3.... then so be it, just change 3rd line to D or if yours is not and need all of them changed, then so be it change all 3 lines to D. Just trying to help.
sorry i went of on a tangent earlier. there are too many tuts out there that say to do it differently. for me I put the movie in that is over 7.5gb and wait till it is recognised then i hit stop spin and take it out with lid off and all that. put game in and spin and then hit find magic number within 2 seconds and then i save that layout and change the first three lines to dummy, save it then load it and start the dump which takes like 20-30 minutes and is 7.5 gb or so and then i check with abgx it says no ss files and fixes and then it is good.
Thanks Guys just ripped Viking: Battle for Asgard AU/NZ version but there is no ss.bin files on the abgx360 database but now its not a bad rip.
