I have posted a similar message before and didn't get anywhere, so I am hoping there are some new people to give suggestions. I am trying to back up BOB and, so far, I got disc 2 (on one of the three sets I have tried) to work with DVD Shrink by itself. All other discs, however, give me the following error:
    DVD Shrink 3.2
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue
    Failed to read file 'D:\'
    The parameter is incorrect

Taking advice from some of the other threads on this site, I have tried using DVD Decrypter and AnyDVD, to no avail. DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 gives the following error on it's autorun:
    I/O error
    Device: [0:0:0] Sony DVD-ROM DDU1615 FD51 (D:) (ATA)

    ScsiStatus: 0x02
    Interpretation: Check Condition

    CDB: 28 00 00 37 88 04 00 00 01 00
    Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 3639300

    Sense Area: 28 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 21 00 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: Logical block address out of range

If I close the error and manually start the decryption, it gets to 90% and gives a similar error (various error messages have different sector numbers on the interpretation for CDB. If I abort it gives error messages advising no decryption key found for 'VTS_01_7.VOB' (as an example) and asking if I would like to get a decrypter key from another file in the same VTS set. AnyDVD 5.9.4.1 also gets to 90% complete and gives a read error. If I ignore read errors it goes to 92% and displays error "couldn't read m_data". Both AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter will save the first episode (of 2 per disc) to the HDD but doesn't do anything with the second and says they are complete. When I try to open the files in DVD Shrink it gives an error about Invalid DVD navigation structure.

On suggestions from other threads, I downloaded DVDFAB (updated to newest version 4-28-2006) and VOBBlanker. DVDFAB gives the following error message: Get DVD information fail. 4096

I have tried my set of discs plus two others, two of those sets are practically brand new with no scratches or other blemishes. I have tried both dvd drives (player and burner) with no luck on all of the above programs plus clonedvd and ratdvd.

Sorry the post is so large but I want to be thorough.

Have you tried ripping with the AnyDVD ripper. Right click on the red fox in the Task Bar and select the ripper from the menu.

The most recent version of AnyDVD came out today 5.9.6.0.

Yes, I have tried that before with no luck either.

I don't have any other ideas other than the disk is defective. Does DVD Decrypter rip the file to your hard disk or are you using DVD Shrink directly from the DVD? Try runing it through VOB Blanker before using Shrink.

My usual process is DVDFab Decrypter to hard disk, run that VOB file through VOB blanker then open that file with DVD Shrink. DVDFab decrypter gives the error message: Get DVD information fail. 4096.

I tried DVD Decrypter and it fails then gives a message in the bottom status box that says "failed to read sector 3306912-logical block address out of range."

    joemahma1,
Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have a bad mastering disk problem as if none of the programs you have tried can rip that disc. Take it back and exchange it.

It has to be a flaw in the disc or a flaw in how you are trying to backup the disc. I have backed up the full set of Band Of brothers with no trouble. So they can be backed up.

I had a little trouble with the Band of Brothers set myself, in fact same as you until I finally used FabDecrypter and Recode I think? One thing, the original disc's themselves had fairly high errors when I scanned them.

I used DVD Decrypter and Recode2. Worked like a charm. But I have seen a few post about people having trouble with the Band Of Brothers. Maybe whoever manufactured them did a crappy job.
