Banned 360 Help

Looking for a little help here and Im sure other people are in the same boat as me.

Recently got banned with the november ban hammer that came down. I'm thinking of purchasing a new 360, but am between minds.

Can anyone clarify (from personal experience) if i buy a brand new unmodded console, and use the hard drive and gamertag off my previous one, will I be able to play online or will I run the risk of banning this new console for good.

Any help appreciated.

Only your console id is banned so a new 360 will let you use your old gamertag and the old 360 hdd
