They ban the console, not the gamertag. And everyone else with a modded drive, your time IS coming. Trust me.

 

Good theory, but I modded my brother's 360 the minute he got it. He's only played me on LIVE (FNR3) and today, he was banned. MS28 with xtreme 5.2a

 

great!im going to get a core and just swap the hard drive over when i want to play on live because ill just use originals on live and that way ive got a spare console if one breaks down too thats put a great big smile on my face microsoft wont stop me.

 

I got a ms28 5.3a flashed after the spring update and I am NOT banned. I have not played the Halo beta but I have downloaded stuff from the marketplace.

I have also played a multiplayer game of Call of Duty 2(retail game disc) and MiniGolf and im still NOT banned.

I play backups only offline.

it seems that 5.3 is not being banned. but it will have its time like all of us people with 5.2 no doubt it wont be a long time until microsoft takes action!then you too will be made to buy a new console for live just like me.

 

i didn't do spring update but my drive is xtreme 53 should i go to original firmware before update and play original games on live till they run their little tests then i go backed to hacked? u think that will work?

 

Y is everyone buying another console!!!! WTH microsoft is now gotten every modded person to get a second console! imagine how much money they are making off us!! thats like double the loss they get from pirated games!!!! WOW they are smart!

better save up and you might as well get a ps3 which has free online. i would hate to buy the same console twice even if its live banned!

im buying pre-owned with 1 year guarentee. no more of my money is going to even touch microsofts hands.

 

YUP they are to stay. you know what would be awesome that we somehow through our 360 blowup their systems! and they will never ban again!!

As much as i didn't wanna buy another console, i looked at it this way:

In the last 6 months, i've:

Spent £320 on a modded Premium Console
Spent £30 on Live Gold
Spent Maybe £25ish on MS points
Saved £2000+ on games..

Now i found boots.com are doing cores for £150, which is pretty damned good, and i still have my current one for backups/offline stuff.

Forza 2 is the next big game for me, playing it offline only would be a total cop out, no fun and missing all the integrals of the game, and besides, those people that bought the playseat/wheel (Happy with my pad for now!) Spent in excess of ~£220 on them...

In the end, its all good and its only cost 7.5% of what i've saved from burnt games!

 

when i get another console after my year guarentee is up ill get a modchip and use the on/off switch for playing on live. that way ill use 1 console for everything

 

is it possible that after you use the 0800 disc to unlock the firmware made your drive noticeable XBL just a thought

 

Exactly this is my point, i saved so much money with this modded console, and I will still in the future as I will have plenty of single player games i will download in the future.

And the best thing to do is buy a package console on ebay. I have bought a 360 premium with 5games, wireless adapter, for £260. I know I can get atleast £160 for the stuff I dn't need, from that package so really I have got a 360 for £100, not bad in my opinion.
