Ooops completely forgot its not the account and its the console; Has anyone tried bringing it back to original state and going on Live (with originals of course)?
im not sure about this or not, but someone was saying that going back and forth between originals and backups was a red flag to MS. is this true? because i havent touched an original game in my console in over a month or more and im still not banned. and i play crackdown every day for at least an hour online.
I got ban so im the club of the bans. Oh well its was fun while it lasted. I knew the Consequences and fell for the halo 3 beta trap. The stupid thing i did i was fine until i did network test and could never get back on. Im a fracking moron for doing the test. Im not buying a another console it stupid and a waste of money. Maybe because i dont go online very often plus you can still update your 360 with the free disc they mailed to you. Oh well single plaer ganes for me i can live with im still going to back up. Im going to miss the live arcade though.
Im running ms28 w/5.3 and im up and running on live with backups, im starting to lean towards the theory that every disc may have a unique ID. And is the cause of people included non-modded consoles being banned.
I'm still not banned. (MS-28, xtreme 5.2) Should I flash back to Original, could this possibly save me from the banhammer? I heard an interesting theory that kinda makes sense. The people being banned are people who have played on live with a backup that wasn't patched with the PFI/DMI. We have people with chips being banned, so that really makes me think M$ can detect backups.
No I think you should leave it alone. If anything you'll probably end up banned if you change it now. Just curious, did you 1st flash before you went on Live for the 1st time and is it the only time you flashed? If not what's your flashing time line? I can't say when, but it really seems that MS start logging firmware info and starting flagging consoles if they changed something. I don't know at what point or if it's even the case, but I think if it is it started around the fall update. I do know a friend's MS25 that I flashed with 5.2b is still on Live right now and has been all night. If his 360 is still cool after a week or so, I'm gonna try to flash a brand new Sammy with 5.3 before it touches Live and see what happens. I may make a new gamertag since I'm pretty sure my current one is flagged for extra scrutiny whenever I go back on Live.
I purchased my 360 in January along with an original copy of gears of war. I played Gears on live for a week or two before I flashed my drive with extreme 5.2c. That is the only time I ever flashed.
It'll certainly be interesting to so if you stay unbanned, K4kashi. If you do maybe sometime between January and the Spring update is when they really started monitoring firmware changes. Please keep us posted. The longer we can compare the stats of the non banned the sooner we can figure out what exactly they are catching.
so did the consoles start recording info on people playing backups at all as opposed to just playing them online, and then when the person next went online or something it sent all that info back to them?
I have a Hitachi 47dj drive with nmeV.1.2 modded chip. Does anyone who has the same been banned. I'm lucky, my computer saved me. My router box failed on me over the past few days and i was so obsessed with fixing it and being busy with other things that i haven't played any games in about about a 2 weeks. Lucky me. I've only been on live a few times and can live without it. MS will never get me. I'll just enjoy playing my 46 backups plus what ever else MS puts out. For the people with console that they did not know were modded and they still got banned. I feel sorry for them and think MS should reimburse them in some way or they are gonna have some pretty pissed off customers, which could cause them alot of money in the long run.
I am still unbanned running 4.2 xtreme. I never use originals either. I flashed my firmware in Sepetember 06, then I upgraded it to Xtreme 5.2 in Jan or Feb, but my drive started behaving strangely so I reverted back to 4.2. All is good for me, prob just a matter of time though. My mate however, whos drive I flashed for him back in November has been banned. His was a samsung flashed with 4.2. He did however often switch between originals and backups. He also has some backups that I do not, and maybe those backups arent stealth patched. Edit:Just checked and Im still unbanned 2nd edit lol : Just to mention I do have the Halo 3 beta. Also, one very plausible theory floating about is the ppl who have been bannned have been on xbox live, modded their console, then gone back on xbox live. Therefore their console info has changed. With my console, I played an original, flashed it, then went on xbox live. I am still unbanned. With my mates, I am pretty sure that he played online then I flashed it for him, then he obviously went back online. Will ask him later to double check. Has there anyone been banned who has modded first then gone on live like I did?
Yeah I don't get it either... I still haven't been banned and I have been on there playing HALO 3 Beta since it came out..... v78 HITACHI w/ FW Toolbox 3.1B... I know its just a matter of time... but still doesn't make any sense...
