Omg, Seriously Stop complaining. Trash MS all you want, But, That would be just like you cheating off a test. The other person would get pissed because they thought of It. Well, MS made the game, so no wonder they will ban you if you d/l their games... I'm all for the piracy thing, I have a modded ps2, so i could care less if people d/l games. But don't complain, It's childish.
I agree with tai56, everyone knew what they were getting themselves into possibly, we need to work towards "how" they are detecting backups and then work off that
LoL @ the situation. Cmon guys, you're not stupid. You all knew M$ wasn't gonna let you guys get on LIVE with a modded box forever. I'm still waiting for a good chip. Ain't nothin gettin in my way of playin Halo 3 online. To me the risk is too high for this firmware nonsense. Unless you dont mind buying a X360 for Live.
That would be nice if they found a cure for the banned disease. When i got my 360, i vowed that i would not spend a red cent on originals so i waited till i modded my unit before i even went on live playing backups. Anyways i'm still unbanned and i'm staying away from xbox live.
here is my question. i installed the spring update the day it came out and i went to live that day. after that i didnt go to xbox live. neither i turn on my console. but ethernet cable from my to 360 was connected. does it mean that they detected my firmware and get em banned or they cant do anything till i signed in live.
Ok guys I just got banned 5 minutes ago. Oh well it was fun while it last I'm off to buy an Elite talk to you guys later.
my info: running ms28 with 5.2 before and after spring update. flashed to new 5.3a before any crackdown/halo3 updates. updated crackdown and d/lded halo 3 no problems. as of 5 mins ago not banned and still playing on xbox live note:xbox dropped and i had to get a refurbed hd and i recovered my gameertag on new and got all crackdown halo updates etc and still can play on xbox live dont think that has anything to do with it though.all backups work and play 100%
they probablly know also because some of us were playing some of the games way before they came out....1 example Lost Planet..you have to have a modded 360 to play games released in other regions...or i'm just paranoid....
as soon as some body tags on to what microsoft is actually up to ,there'll probably be a fix to desguise what firmware you have from m$.i really do wish i knew what the hell they were doing and how to stop it.some body will fid out.eventuallty
You have a point, but: you couldn't play a game from another region if it isn't regionfree, so they wouldn't ban you for that reason - those games are regionfree for a reason. Another scenario is that some shops sell new games a few days or even a week earlier. (than the official launchday)
Same with a friend that I flashed before he ever went on Live, but it's seems to be a combo of things. I know he likes mainly sports and military shooters an he's on Live right now. We're both in Georgia. I'm banned though.
