banned :(

Me & my brother both have MS28 drives, located also in Georgia, both banned. I have crackdown, he doesn't. In fact, he's MAYBE played on live for 2 hours or so and only against me. Since real games have a video partician on layer 0 and layer 1 while xtreme stealth backups only have it on layer 0 is how they can tell you're running a backup. They've been collecting data for a while, I only know this because a guy who NEVER signed onto Live but to ONLY update his console after each season update got banned.

 

so there should just be more video padding on the games right? that could fix everything.

 

Could be, which could also be why c4e is going to release a new FW for unmodded 360's and un-banned ones. It'll probably support this layer1 video partician.

So in theory, all games would have to be re-ripped this way and all programs would have to be updated. This is just my opinion from what I see going on right now. Of course, nothing is official and no one is really talking because we all know Microsoft trolls these forums, xbox-scene and xboxhacker

 

i got spring update and after that didnt went to xbox live. neither i downloaded halo beta but my ethernet cable was connected to my console and in tht time i didnt turn n my console. should i still be get banned. i m confused

 

im not too worried about them doing anything about my console because my cat 5 is pulled so until something new comes about in this new c4e firmware im not going to be playing live anymore.

 

come to think of it even if you dont have the cable plugged in they can still ban your console. they have your serial number recorded so all they have to do is hit that button and your gone. guess everyone will be handled either way. if your already flashed your gone now. no turning back.

 

I don't suppose anyone knows if this will also void your warranty? I'm not concerned at all about losing xbox live.....i'm going to use xlink from now on.....but if there is the chance that it voids your warranty.......it defeats the purpose of me paying the extra $30 for my 2 year extended warranty. Also is there a way to be able to turn live off so you don't connect to it when you turn your xbox on, but also be able to connect to the internet to use xlink?
Does that make sense?
I don't have an internet connection at home at the moment cos i am moving but plan to reconnect it when we move.....so officially i havent been banned yet.....but i'm sure it will happen once i plug it back in.

 

every live user should boycott live for a while and see if they like that loss of dollar.ive been banned after buying there bugged and rushed out piece of white crap,then buying microsoft points and themes and windows vista..this sucks i have a modded console and all original games bar 1 and i still get banned..in the risk of getting banned here too but its worth it...microsoft you can kiss my ass and i laugh at all the cash you didnt make off the modders.you have more money than anyone on the planet and you worry about people going online with modded xboxes wanting to play on your site and give you more money..you need a slap off ya gold throne Mr G.

same thoughts here. but i think 360 has better fps. i want to quit like that but everyone else is stupid to ditch more money to M$ by buying an elite for the excuse that they were banned. so in the end the modders lose more money since they end up buying 2 of the same consoles and then original games for live!

 

you just made your self look like a fool. its your fault your banned. you payed someone to do it, or even worse you modded your xbox console your self. this is what you agreed to when you made an xbox live account and i am quoting this straight from the xbox.com site for the xbox live terms of use.

Just like the mature members of afterdawm announced, " WE KNEW THIS WAS BOUND TO HAPPEN SINCE KINGDOM COME!!!!" Oh well, luckily for me, i only played madden online, and even on the original the connection online would ALWAYS drop, screwing my record royally!!!

Im just glad i was able to recieve the spring update for HD viewing!!!!!! as long as i can play my backups and my HD movies im glad!!!!

Well I don't think it was related to firmware just randomised, As me and my four friends purchased console pre-modded last december and we often play GOW online, But on 18th I was the only who banned and all of my friends are not banned yet.

 

It totally amazes me when people get banned and say: 'F*CK YOU MS!!! I'm buying PS3 instead! not gonna "waste" more money on Bill - let's boycot them!' somebody explain me the logic behind that.

IMO it's just pathetic, it's not like they bricked your machine, you can still play your backup games fine (and you should be grateful they don't actually ban your account alltogether). Something you can't do on a PS3. I also wonder how many games those people spent/wasted on Xbox360. A console and Live subscription? A few DL-disks?

PS3 means $599 and buying original games. Yeah, PS3 gaming is SO much cheaper ;(

 

I got my new console on the 18th and downloaded the beta before i hacked it. now its the 21st and i have been playing backups and the beta non stop until now (because i just heard of this mass banning) with my 78fk and what ever the newest firmware is. I have not been banned but im still very scared and trying not to wet myself.

 

you need to do some reading, to use xlink or xbconnect you do not connect your xbox directly to the internet. you must use the xbox in conjunction with a pc to use there service.
example: use a wireless laptop on internet running your choice of xlink or xboxconnect and connect your xbox to your laptop with ethernet cable.

 

Inside sources at Teammodders, and this may or may not be 100% accurate but sure sonds very logical, have said the following about the recent string of bannings.

They say that the new spring update to the dashboard has given it the ability to scan the EEPROM file of the 360 and do CRC checks so that Microsoft can log any console ID that they find to have made changes (AKA flashing the DVD drive or a modchip). And that the instant the update had been run the check was done and your console was flagged if data had been altered. Then of course you were added to the database for the waves of bannings that will be happening. I know some people are so far very happy that they are not banned when so many others have been. But as i speculated it may be possible that they were building a database and banning in waves since there was no way that they could ban that many consles in just one day.

i know that isnt 100% certified concrete but do you know if they run this check everytime you logon or if it was a one time thing. The reason i ask is because i hacked my firmware after i downloaded the beta and all the updates so maybe they missed me! (wishful thinking)

 

I doubt they missed you because in order to use Xbox Live you HAVE to do the updates. If you do not do updates for your games or Xbox it will just sign you out of Live.
And i think it would check each time the console is started as he mentioned the console taking about 3 seconds extra to boot due to the check. We have to face it. If your modded most likely your banning is coming in the very near future. So have fun while it last. I personally have been fortunate so far and will just enjoy XBL while it last. After that then i will not bother buying a new console just to access Live because it is no where near worth it. It is fun for sure but i played games offline for years and will just go back to that until the free systems or firmware people can find a way around the ping timer preventing use of XBconnect and Xlink Kai. And if they do not then i will just not play online anymore. No big deal really.
