just wonderin.does anybody know which of the links e.g. xbconnect is best for playing gears of war?

do any of those free xbox lives even work?
cause im gonna be looking into them once i get banned.

 

you can try either one, but i do not think you will get anywhere. Did you not read the posts above about the ping time making it nearly impossible? last time i was on Xlink Kai it showed not 1 person playing any 360 game.

 

thats the problem with these sorta things nobody knows who is online at what time and theres also not as many games available as xbox live.nothing like that will ever compare to the real live experience.im hooked on live and m$ have got me buyin another un-modded console for sure!

 

bailey07, I will admit the XBL is a lot of fun. But i would not buy another console plus the games just to get it back. That is for people with disposable incomes, i have too many bills to pay to be spending another $300 Plus, on a new system just so MS can take my $50 a year.

 

i really want another console to play halo 3 mainly but also gears of war im not gunna be buyin a lot of originals only the ones with really good online play so im still gunna save money in the long run

 

idk modders always lose in the long run with microsoft. but i don't have enough either to pitch out for another console and originals! especially the 50 a year live service with the bad satisfication of knowing you console will give you a 3 red light sometime in the future. i can no longer live with that!!

 

there is a LOT of false info being spread around on this fourom.
when it comes to still playing system link games on lan, the 360 that i have that was banned yesterday still works, also works perfect on xlink and xbconnect. i just made my son stop playing halo2 on xlink and put in gow and it works great.
alot of people on there to, last week before the live ban there where
very few people on gow,when i just checked about 10 min ago there where well over 100 playing.
please people dont post false information based on speculation
post facts!

 

yup i use xlink kai,its got busier now for obvious reasons....
can only use system link games though...

 

well those programs fool your xbox to thinking your pc is another xbox, so the system link game are all that will work.

 

Yer its cool.....i know how to use xlink.....i used to use it with my old xbox..... but once i have an open connection to the internet or a link to the modem through my xbox, won't i automatically be connected to live? I don't want live to connect at all but i want to be able to connect to xlink......does anyone know if thats possible? Also does being banned void my warranty?

 

you make no sense,there is no way in hell microsoft can see your xbox if your on xlink, if you have used either program, xlink or xbconnect you should know how it works. the only way you get on live is to sign into live, set your xbox to manualy connect and dont connect, its that easy.
make a profile called (idiot) and use it on xlink.

The reason why i asked the question is because i havent been connected to live for about 9 months now and was going to connect in about 2 months time before all these bannings happened.......hence couldn't remember.

I was banned first day MS started this. I really don't care cause i FINALLY was able to find a Wii.....This system is the SHIT

 

I was banned on the very first day MS started the bans, but the funny thing is it didn't bother me the slightest. On that day, i was FINALLY able to find a brand new Wii at EB games, last 1 at the store...i was sooo lucky...This system IS the SHIT ppl. Who cares about live. Play Wii Sports with 3 or 4 friends n u'll see how fast u forget about Xbox Live
