banned :(

hi, i bought a elite, had it flashed, have gone xbox live, just to download movie trailers and game demos, have never put a back-up game in it, is it safe to flash it back the way it was before ? thanks

Well the poll numbers show apparently over 7 million ppl have the Wii, n will probably surpass Xbox 360's intaller base before the end of the year.

Not a fanboy, i do love the 360, just letting all banners know its not the end of the world. I also like to say i also own a PS3, n by banning me from Live, MS just gave me the perfect reason to go online with Sony's giant box

 

they already know your modded if you have been online. flashing back may just send them a red flag on your console and you may be banned faster.

 

wait till the wii seems full shit to you! its a novelty it like the first cool led pencil you got then after a while it gets boring! after a while you will see how crap it is! plus that has no online capabilities whatsoever! like no game has online! its full of stupid kid games!

 

i wouldn't go online and wait till we know exactly how people are being banned. did you get the spring update? if you didn't then im pretty sure ur safe to go to original! and if its a 078fk im guessing that if they didn't ban a lot of them yet it is pretty hard to detect so you can probably if really desperate to go on live flash to original!

 

guys help me out here...im gunna sell my modded 360..and grab a new 360 either core or pro. but if i get a chip (any kind) can i still play back ups on XBL????

 

no couple chips got banned. im planning on getting a chip but im not sure which one. im stuck between the globe360 all360 and possibly nme. im closer to the all360 but nobody is giving strong directions on which is better. the main point with the chip is that you can turn it off for play original games on live! but im wondering if its okay to have the auto original game chip turnoff feature. or does it have to be a manual switch? someone answer!

edit: just found out that the all360 goes on the motherboard of the 360, i really don't like that idea now im going for the globe 360! but im wondering is aladdin good because it only has like 4 wires to solder! all i want is a switch for online playing!

edit: im wondering after booting a backup can you turnoff the chip and the game will run? if so we can do this the go on live as it won't get a modified firmware to catch! SOMEONE WITH KNOWLEDGE PLZ REPlY!

 

nope. its not going to work. once you turn the chip off your going to get a disc read error. the modchip basically replaces your firmware and its going to be just like putting a burned game in a non modded console. its not going to do any good.

but on another note, as i posted in my new thread, it appears that C4E may have a fix for all you banned people. once the new firmware is out you should be able to call ms and tell them that you were banned without having a modded console and they will rescan your xbox and find that your new firmware is fully stealth and they wont know that you have a modded firmware and they will unban you. Assuming this is true, the this will open the portals to really sticking it to the man.

 

That sounds good, but I can't see MS unbanning 1,000s of consoles that were actually modified especially if your 360 ever powered up on without a DVD drive connected to it which is believed one of the reasons for the banning. Basically MS checks several things and when you get 3 strikes your out.

they are smart they are definitely not unbanning the consoles! they know this will force people to buy another 360 so they get more money!

 

Peple who are whinging don't really have much choice as everyone here knew what they were doing when they got their 360's modded in the first place.

Microsoft probably let it go on for a while until they thought uit was best - the release of the Elite and Halo 3 beta. Not bad timing if you ask me. I am going to buy a new Elite about September and a new plasma to boot for the new Halo maybe earlier if anything fantastic comes out for multiplayer I'l reconsider. Anyway my question.

Will there be a way that a patch can be added to the system to change the system number / serial number / console number or what ever info it is that Microsoft has to ban the console sonthat it isn't banned anymore?? To give a false I/D or something??

 

Hey Memnock, where'd you read this? I'm not saying you're wrong or anything like that. I'd just like to read more on it as I've never used my 360 to power my drive during flashing. I've always used a TE connectivity kit to power drives for flashing.

I've got a ms28 w/5.3c which hadn't been banned yet.

 

So was everybody that has been banned so far running the halo 3 beta? Or at least downloaded it? I haven't touched it yet.

I have a flashed 78 HITACHI Drive. I played a backup version of Gears of War last night for a few hours. Everything is still working fine. I have downloaded all the lasted updates for Crackdown, but not the Halo 3 Beta. I live in Canada though if that makes a difference at all. I dont think it would though.

 

Hmmm I haven't messed with Crackdown since that came out so if there's been any kinda screwy updates with that lately I haven't downloaded them. Maybe they're hitting people who have been on for hours at a time?

The fact you aren't banned adds support to it which I'm glad to hear. Out of my own curiosity have you been using scene releases or ripping your own games?
