I have been given a Nokia 1600, supposedly locked to Easymobile in U.K.Any other card I put in- Voda, Orange or O2- it says card not valid.I tried to unlock it with an unlock number, no success. I assumed that someone else had tried 5 times. When I tried to dial a number, it said calls to this number are barred from this phone. I assumed the phone was blocked. I put the sim card into another phone, it found signal OK, but told me again, calls to this number from this phone are barred! Can anyone tell me what is blocked, the phone , sim or both? Thanks, Al.

    The IMEI is 358382002639904
I forget the code I used, but it said not allowed.
Can't understand why the sim wont work on another working phone. Thanks

Not allowed normally means the phone is hardlocked from too many wrong codes being entered. Try this one and if you see the same message, that's the problem.

If you need to send for unlocking, try the link below or someone local in your area.

Have you tried to use an actual Easy Mobile sim that's activated?

Good thinking, No Limit. I sort of assumed the sim was activated, but the guy I got it from is even thicker than me, so it may not be!! Will try & get another off Ebay. Even try to figure iut how to activate this one! Thanks. Al.

Good luck with it but understand that it will only work with Easy Mobile because it is hardlocked. I would ask a few friends if they have an activated Easy Mobile sim for you to test with before making the purchase of a new sim.

Thanks again. If it is only hardlocked , I shall be quite happy, as I assumed it was blocked. Seems hardlock can be removed for £12 or so. Reason is, that there is no Easymobile signal here & so I would like to change to Orange, which has good reception.Or fit a dual sim, as its a nice little phone. Thanks again for your help, Cheers, Al.
