So yesterday I finally got a usb stick and the usb adapter from some website and i formatted everything correctly. I put in splinter cell, went to check points, and boom! Something new came up. So I messed around with this linux thing for a bit and then decided to put in my cd-rw that supposedly had auto installer deluxe on it. And so, the cd DID have AID on it, but it was the EMULATOR edition. I got confused and I just started messing around with the tools that the cd gave me, and, being the nub I am, I decided to go to the reformat the xbox button and clicked it. Now, I cannot use any burned cds in my box in order to install a softmod and I cannot use my original xbox dashboard because it's been erased. The only thing I can do is play official xbox games. Is there any possible way that I can put the original dashboard back onto the box? I can't FTP my box because it's not recognizing the cds i put in (it's gives me an error message that says "Your Xbox requires service. Please call Xbox Customer Support." in about 6 different languages... plus the box's light flashes from red to green) Anyways, is there any possible way that I can fix my box or is it toast and I can only play official xbox games?
you need to have a linux save on your xbox for this, which if you have softmodded it you should have, but anyway if you do just go into it and restore the ms dash or install softmod and then install unleashx dash, depends if you want to re-mod it,but you can only use restore if you created your backup earlier.
no.. I have nothing saved on my hard drive... no soft mods, no dashboards, nothing. Is there anything I can do to reverse this? I tried putting in a burned cd that had a softmod installer on it and it wasn't regocnized... help?
yes indeed it might, or it might screw it up even more.. i posted something about an iso linux disc on another fourm... this one "Basically, I think I'm Screwed" hope that fourm helps
It doesn't boot to the regular microsoft dashboard anymore. If i turn my box on with nothing in the drive it just brings up a screen that says "Your Xbox requires service. Please call Xbox Customer Support" in like 6 different languages. So yeah... I'm lost! I'll check out that forum about the iso linux though
it doesn't display a number to call. It just says that my box requires service and that I need to call Xbox Customer Support. Anyone got any ideas? Is there a boot disc that I can buy or something so I can get a dashboard back onto my box?
noo there should be a 2 diget number in the top left hand corner like 05, 06, 13, 21 something around there
lnkinprk... dude... i'm looking at my xbox right now and there is not a number located anywhere on the screen...here's a picture of what comes up on my screen when there isn't a game in the disc tray.... can u still help me out without those numbers man? That would be awesome if you could!
