I just used DvdFab ... ripped entire movie and got a small error at the very end of it but I hit inore all ... used shrink to backup just the movie and picked the 1st angle and it worked for backing it up. Timm
AnyDVD beta 6.8.0.8 works need registered version for beta to work. DVDfab also has a beta version out EDIT: was just over to Slysoft forums and they have a new beta that they say will work in trial mode 6.8.0.10.... http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD68010.exe
Tried DVDfab and will not read the disc. I have the newest version and it pops up saying ignore, abort, clear, and clear all. help please!
What is the version number of your DVDfab? If it is the official release version then use the beta version which is an unofficial release, but fixes most problems up to that release. And according to Slysoft forum you can use their newest beta version in TRIAL mode. (Normally you can't) If you haven't used AnyDVD before you can get 21 day FREE TRIAL no key needed.
I can confirm ANYDVD beta version 6.8.0.10 will def rip the movie. It's a bit quarky, but it works. I chose all 4 camera angles...and the first chapter wanted to keep replaying until all the angles were viewed(it kept restarting the movie with the next camera angle)...but after the first chapter...everything played fine. I think if you choose only one camera angle, you'll be fine. I still consider it a total success.
That's weird I previously backed it up with beta 6.8.0.8 no problem. Then I did it with beta 6.8.0.10 and it works fine with that too. I also use it with CloneDVD 2 and only do the movie.
Beta 6.8.0.8 is available from Majorgeeks.... http://majorgeeks.com/AnyDVD_&_AnyDVD_HD_d4920.html You need a registered version to use this beta. The beta 6.8.0.10 according to slysoft forum say will work in trial version http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD68010.exe
Go to this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-45/dvdfab_not_ripping_some_latest_dvd_s-900031/ Here is solution Ian Posted. "My Solution:- Need to find title of main movie – used nero to find title – was 65 for The Fighter Used dvdshrink which also fails with cyclic redundancy check but finds the directory structure successfully Used re-author function to place title 65 in “dvd” pane. Used backup function to save to hard disk. Can now use nero to burn or dvdfab Used same procedure to "backup" True Grit Same procedure for extras/special features Any other solutions to this new trick by dvd producers ? Ian " It worked for True Grit and use the some procedure for Battle: Los Angeles. Backup Title 1 and burned with Nero. I don't know the difference between the title 1 and angles 2-4. Maybe someone here can tell us the difference, so that we all know for future reference. Thanks to Igallache (Ian) on the other thread for the excellent tip. Haven't use DVD Shrink for a long time but it proved to be a useful program again where others failed.
The best way is to get Anydvd 6.8.0.10, that will eliminate most of the fake titles on the disc. Then use CloneDVD to select Title 1 Angle 1 as your main movie and rip. Good luck!
AnyDVD beta is up to 6.8.0.11 and will work in trial for 21 days. Old beta link become inoperable when new beta is released, here's the latest. http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD68011.exe
Okay for all you Dvd Fab Users! I also had problems with Battle Los Angeles. I downloaded the Fab Beta Version and it was expired, no problem. Use the Dvd Decrypter on the beta version it never expires. Copy the movie to your Hard Drive and then use whatever good version you have of DvdFab, mine is 8.0.7.3 to copy the full disk. Works like a dream. WE WIN!!!!!!!!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Almost each and every person blame that the purpose of the los angeles is useless. And a very heavy loss have to bear to whole nation but with the passage of the time people forget about this one.
