    http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2142_9.html Min System Requirements:
Windows XP (32-bit) with Admin rights
1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D / Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP/ Sempron or greater
512 MB of RAM or more
    8x or faster CD/DVD drive
2.3 GB free hard drive space or more
    DirectX 9.0c compatible
128Mb Video card or more. 6150's are integrated into the motherboard. Perhaps you should try smaller resolution. out of range message ?

It means your system display card settings are too high for your monitor. Boot your system into safe mode and set the display settings lower. Right mouse button click on an empty space on your desktop and go to properties. Then settings->advanced and you should be able to adjust the vertical frequency down to 60hz or 72hz. If not, then go to the monitor tab and load a generic monitor driver.
