Trying to install BD Rebuilder on new HP laptop running Windows 10. I believe that I have followed all the instructions in the BD Readme file including downloading all the needed utilities and unzipped the download. When I run REG_MSCOMCTL as an administrator, the installation stops. The following is the sequence leading to the error message:

    1. Window opens, named C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe
    2. In the window, a prompt: C:\Windows\system32>regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx
    3. Error message appears from Regsvr32:
"module MSCOMCTLOCX failed to load. .... The specified module couldn't be found."

I looked at the Windows folder System32 and confirm that the file mscomctl is not therein. I am hesitant now to copy and paste the mscomctlocx file that is included with BD Rebuilder into the C:\Windows\System32 folder because I don't know what I'm doing.

Please give me instructions about how to install BD Rebuilder that solves the error described above.

I can't see an issue with doing what's required as bd requires the missing file to be where it thinks it is,so either drop it in there or create a restore point first then drop it,either way it needs to be there
