I just purchased a Sony DRX-810UL DVD R dual layer/double layer (USB) and attempting to backup some DVD's. It also came with Nero Software Suite.

I downloaded DVD Shrink 3.2 and loaded the movie "STAY" on my pc (Toshiba Satellite 5105-S501 w/Windows XP) in a temp folder. I then tried to burn to the DVD but was unable to. I get the following error:

"DVD shrink encountered an error and can not continue. Programming error-exception occurred"

I am using Sony DVD-RW 120min 4.7GB. Are these ok to use, or should I be using something else?

What programs should I be using?

    Can anyone help me out?

How did you get the DVD to your computer HDD(Temp folder)?

Or are you opening DVDShrink and trying to transcode the movie off your DVD drive.

It would be best to give a step by step explination of what your doing, and wanting to do.

I used DVD Shrink to backup up the movie to my hard drive. Actually I have no clue to what I need to do.

Maybe I just need to start from scratch.

When are you getting the error?

I said to give a step by step explination on what you are doing and where the error is showing up.

Does it give you the error when you try importing the DVD into DVD Shrink or does it import the DVD and transcode the DVD and give you the error during the burn of the proccsses?
