have tried three different copies of this dvd with the same results. using xcopy and or dvd decrypter. I can't get past the 1st 20 seconds on each try. thanks bailey
Im doing shrink then to decrypter and it just freezes after 20 seconds no error message. In xcopy it will not open to start in either full or short version. I've cleaned and tried different dvds but always with the same result. Have had problems in past with recording but with either cleaning or switching from one program to another it always works itself out until I ran into this dvd. ps thanks in advance for the help.
I note that "Being Julia" is a Sony / Columbia / Tristar movie. Because of this, it is one of those discs that has the copy protection known as "Sony ArCCos" on it. This does not mean it cannot be ripped. BUT, it does mean that you have to use the correct program / combination of programs, and that you must exercise some care. Note that DVDShrink by itself will never be able to rip it. Never. The latest version of DVDDecrypter, though, will handle almost all of these discs (which Region are you in)? WHICH version of DVDDecrypter did you try to use? Was it the latest version? Earlier versions could not handle these discs. You can also use DVDShrink IF you run AnyDVD in the background while ripping, or IF you run DVD43 in the background while ripping. There are also other programs that can rip these discs. Click on the link below, and read the information very carefully. If you will note, "Being Julia" Region 1 is one of the afflicted films on the list. http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=48842 -Bruce
Ok after doing an all out battle against being julia(different programs, different tries, standing on my head etc. I have gotten it onto my hard drive as an iso file through decrypter with dvd43 running. I have now tried to open with shrink, but it will not recognize the file. It's there but not there when I look with shrink. Am at witts end with this, sorry for being newbie with not much copy sense. What is my next move... thanks bailey
hi use dvd decrypter and dvd43 but rip in either iso mode or file mode and try both to dvd shrink! in file mode you can rip main movie only this usaully gets the beast ok!
Try copying it with DVD Shrink while AnyDVD runs in the background. SO far AnyDVD has had no problems for me, even ripping the latest DVD's. Haven't tried this particular one, but several others burned fine this way, even the ones with the "new" encryptions. AnyDVD has a 21-day free trial available, so it is worth it just to try it out.
ok guys I have ripped an iso file onto my hard drive 8,339,840 kb and a mds file with it. but each time I try to open it with shrink the file does not show up it is as if it dosent exists. Am at the end of the road with this movie/ bailey
Are you clicking file then selecting "Open Disk Image" in Shrink? Or are you just trying to use the open file button?
ok I guess when you get tired of trying something you miss what is right in front of you, Thanks I was not going from disc but from file. Movie in now in collection. Again thanks to all, I always come out with a smile after getting help from you guys. Bailey
