i decided to go wireless and connect all computers in the house via wireless modem router.i decided on the belkin f5d8633-4,however,when i try to run setup via ethernet connection first, i get all green lights until i input my username and password.it wont connect to the internet. i have rechecked both and they r correct.my isp is talktalk and i'm currently using my talktalk wired modem.i have googled the problem and found other people with the same problem but no answers as yet.any ideas ?

with only the modem connected to the pc, disconnect both the power & data cables to the modem. connect the ethernet cable from the modem to the wan connector of the router. connect the ethernet cable from 1 of the other ethernet ports of the router to your pc's netcard. reconnect the power & data cables to the modem & restart the pc.

just to be clear here.i am using basic talktalk modem to do this and get online cos my new modem router wont work yet.i'm on bt landline so not going to use a cable router.are u giving me instructions for a cable router (meaning i need a modem too)? or are these instructions for a modem router? cos it's the latter i got.all goes well in installing with the setup disc but at the end when it tries to connect to internet it fails with isp not allowing/recognising me.i have rechecked all setting including ipconfig.i checked all settings against the modem i'm using now and put same settings into new m/router manually but same prob.i wonder if talktalk have an issue with belkin.

i rang up talktalk and they gave me all the settings i needed.i then went into manual setup and unticked dns servers "get dns settings automatically from isp" and put them in manually cos it was just showing0.0.0.0.00..i put in the correct dns code and voila .i am now online with the belkin modem router.my next challenge is to get it off a wired connection and go wireless.the usb adaptor that came with it keeps going off and i cant seem to find it on my comp.there is no icon in the bottom left corner,i must be missing something simple but i'm tired.tyr again tomorrow..at least i got it online.thanks for help tho
