    Few questions, Can you change the book type on this drive BenQ 1655 with out flashing the firmware, and if not is there a drive you can, Thanks.

    Yes, you can change the booktype with the BenQ DW1655 without updating the firmeware. You have to Qsuite that comes bundled with the retail version of the drive, otherwise you can download it from BenQ's website i think.

    Another good drive with booktype features is the LG GSA-4167B.

    I have both and they are very good drives.

    Because my DVD Player at home will NOT play DVD+R.

    Well Dad_Of_3 says no problem, BenQ gotcha covered :^)
    Stay away from NEC burners then, or you'll be burning DVD-R...
