Hi all i am able to flash a samsung 25/28 or any hitachi this is my first attempt to a benq VAD6038 drive i used the soldering trick with dosflash 1.4 through dos and averything went fine , i could read the firmware reading bank 0 to 3 all ok reading finished ! datasum : xxxx now when i log on to windows and put the orig.bin file in to the benqixtreme 8x dirctory to make ixtreme frimware i get the following annoying message: no valid key found in orig.bin i have tried unplugging all the other drives so i am sure its the benq drives firmware ... where am i wrong , wats solution options i have and what i can i do??? i am so frustrated , help me....
The problem is it didn't read all the banks there are actually 4 banks it has to read. The best thing to use for Benq drives is iPrep in my opinion. You could give it a shot and see if you can read the firmware.
ok , i tried iprep but was not able to flash cause i think it read the wrong sata port , well before i proceed with my second attempt with iprep , just wanna know , if i am able to read the firmware using the soldering method , then do u that it shud be definite that i prep will work with my sata , i even had to edit mtkflash to read the samsungs , do u think i need to edit something again to read the benq , or it shud work as it is??? my motherboard is Gigabyte GA - 8i 945G
