Hello, i read the textbook and i seem cannot seem to flash my drive.
Heres my config and what i did.
Asus A8V mobo VIA 8237. (one sata cable connected to my HD and another cable connected to my xbox).

Using the textbook method i chose to do the NTFS4DOS CD using Iprep.
    here are my steps:
    Loaded up NTFS4DOS
Went to my c drive to load up iprep (cd iprep_~1)
then typed in autoexec to load up iprep
put in my serial number (Dben 1234567 12345)
then i got some error saying MTK backup... etc (not sure if this effects anything or if theres a fix)
Then i push y to start the flash
i turn on my xbox at this point and nothing happens i get status: 0x0 the whole time.

help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

why dont you just use a usb stick or floppy disc and boot from it. would be a lot easier?

spend the 15 bucks for the via 6421 card and you wont have any issues then.

Your supposed to connect ur sata cable to the xbox and the motherboard not the hd.

Although Im just supposing its a typo.

Im going to flash my 360 soon, so wish me luck,

i think he meant that one cable is going to his PC's HD, and another cable is going to his 360.

I use the NTFS4DOS method and it works fine for me,but you have to use a partition of 32GB or less in order for it to work.If you use anything above that then it won't work.I agree with wabashman though you should spend the 15 dollars or so for the via 6421 card.
