I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I am running Windows 7 on a compatible SATA motherboard and using DSEO to instal the driver. I started up DosFlash and it detects my BenQ, along with the command to send the Magic28 keys. Every time, it says failed.
Any help? My computer can detect my drive and it detects that it's a BenQ, so why can't it send the magic keys to unlock it?
IS it because I'm running on a 64 Bit?
I also turned off the protection in the control panel for the drivers.

    Thank you for replying
Yes, I have tried to use Jungle Flasher 1.69, I have signed the driver with DSEO and installed the special portio64.sys that came with it. WHen I power on my computer and double click on JF as administrator, my whole computer completely freezes and I have to turn it off again.

....Oh yeah, also, I couldn't get the windows 98 boot disc I've read everyone talking about. I have tried different methods and made sure I got the right files, but my computer, with the hard drive disconnected, still couldn't boot up WIn 98.
Thanks for all the help :)

for a lack of information on the fact i must ask you, are you putting the drive in vendor mode before you try any writing to it? with windows 7 i have noticed that it will see the drive, but until it is in vendor mode you cannot write to it.

easiest result is going to be this. do not plug the sata cable in until windows is running. plug in the sata, and then power up your xbox. open the drive, hold the tray unplug the drive, start it back up holding the drive until you get the flashing, this way you know it is in vendor mode. now open your jungle flasher, the drive will be recognized and you can write to it without problems.

So I hold it open and it will be in vendor mode?
I will have to try this tomorrow since It's 11.
    I'll post tomorrow.
    THANKS! :)

Another thing, Jungle Flasher will just hang on me (1.69) so I will use DosFlash for it.

yes what i do is open the drive stick my finger in the hole so it wont close. when it gets to that point you have to hold on to it or it will try to re open. once you have it help half open unplug the xbox. keep holding it or it will close. while holding it plug the xbox back up and turn it on. when on it will try again to open and close, just keep holding it. after that last attempt it will stop.the the green light in the middle will start flashing. this tells you, you have done it correctly and the drive is in vendor mode. free to read and write all you want. this also works on sammy drives that have already been flashed, if you ever need to do that.
