This new version of iXtreme Lite Touch Firmware for Benq & LiteOn bring's media compatibility updates and, iXtreme LT 1.0 apparently also has a detectable flaw, they currently aren't checking for. You are advised to update now

    Benq & LiteON LT 1.1

So much for the LT firmware that was so adamantly hailed as "UNDETECTABLE!" Still give props to those guys for putting this up as soon as they picked up on it.

I don't want to sound like an idiot but i think i'm going to anyway :)

If you've already flashed your liteon 74850c drive to LT v1.0 does this mean the next update to v1.1 will require the whole 9 series tom foolery with cutting traces and soldering etc etc?????

As long as you have the orginal bin files saved, No. All that work is to get the key. if you've saved that, then you can just erase, write, outro the drive.

just updated benq to 1.1 lt. Simple. put in vendor, read, Spoofed key (spoofed as ts-h943) and wrote, outro and voila. Hope im not flagged because i went online THINKING this fw was "undetectable" like they so greatly advertised while i waited 3 months to get it. Oh well thanks for the update anyways.

hopefully you've done enough research to know that you'll NEVER be 100% safe.

So what I'm getting from this thread is that if you have a liteon you don't really have a "detectable" flaw but if you are having dirty disc problems you should update.

So if you don't have any media read problems you don't have to update to keep from being detected. Is this correct?
