Hi, Just one of the times when the products section of BenQs' site laggs behind. In affect the 1670 uses the flashier style faceplate seen on Philips drives (BenQs own colour stylist adds their bit);-). Case is the same as that seen first with the 1640, however this is not a Philips chipset based drive. It's Panasonic as used by Teac & more recently Sony with the 820.
