Best audio source

    I have a Pioneer Elite VSX-82TXS Receiver with 3 HDMI inputs. I have a Xbox 360 HD-DVD player and I'm going to purchase the Xbox 360 Elite when it comes out this Sunday. My question is, which audio output would be the best to use to maximize the audio quality from the Xbox 360 HD-DVD player, the HDMI or the digital optical cable? I appreciate any input on this matter.
