I am currently using WinAVI Video Converter to convert my .avi files to .mpeg so I can watch them on my dvd player. While the program is quick, the quality can be choppy at times. Frames are sometimes dropped and the audio will briefly go out of synch with the video. I am sure other programs are out there that can do a better job, but since video editing/conversion isn't something I have a lot time to research, I am just wondering what the consensus is on the best or better conversion programs? Thanks for all your help.
Give this a try and see what you think. The trial leaves a watermark in your video and is slower but very highly regarded. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vso_convertxtodvd_guide.cfm
Have you ever tried its v7.7? They said that they use new MPEG encoder. By the way,why you don't convert avi to dvd directly? Then you can burn to disc or played on player/pc.In my opinion, that is a better format.
I tried using winavi to convert and mpeg4 file to a dvd and then burned it but i keep getting no sound...gunna try other programs unless someone can tell me what im doing wrong? I even tried encoding and then burned it with nero 7 and my dvd works in my 360 but no sound...
Make sure you have select "DirectAC3" inthe advanced page when do the conversion. If this isn't issue, maybe you need some codec for mpeg-4 file. Maybe this can help you for codec.good luck http://www.mpegable.com/
