    Hi All,

Ive been reading the forums for a few hours now, and lots of information to take in. Also seems to be lots of different boxes too.

Obviously N3 seems a problem (but hopefully a short-term one).

Basically im getting a basic TV Virgin TV install. This may or may not come with a new card.

So, are there any decent boxes that people recommend buying? And also has N3 hit the midlands area yet??

    Thanks in advance

    Personal recommendation ...

Kryptview A750 or wait until the new Kryptview HD DW800 arrives (should be released at the end of November 2009).

    No N3 in your area.

Thanks for your recommendation :), after a quick search it looks a good box.

Though I guess 2 more questions:

    1. Any idea on when N3 will arrive in the midlands? As would hate to buy one and then they roll out N3 within a week lol.

    2. Any recommended suppliers with good prices? Noticed one was selling for £90, I assume that's the norm.

    Thanks :)

Personally although i have had really good moneys worth out of my boxes it is not the best time to buy. It is only going to be a short period now before N3 kicks off with the new smart cards on the horizen. i don't believe N3 will kick in every where for a good time myself but everything is un certain dependent on the area you live in. Personally i believe either we will get new firmware for the newer boxes or newer boxes arriving on the market at some point. But at present everything is un certain and there is no guarantee how long a box you purchase now will last in the future.

the old chestnut, how long will it last. Nothing is a certain in the cable scene, you could get a month or a year, its the chance ya take. No one can give a ya a date on when something is gonna change or switch, Ya pay yer money and take a gamble.

google skywonder to get a price, good supplier to deal with.

Hi guys im new to this forum and i need some help if its not already posted as i tried to search but i didnt find anything helpful.

I want to buy the Kryptview Arnet Receiver Evolution A750 , but before i buy it im reading alot about the switch over to N3 and im in plymouth which one of the first to get the switch over .

Before i buy it, i wanted to ask few questions as i have virgin box outside my house ( telewest ) .

will i need anything more than the box ?
will the update for the channels will be pre installed ?
i saw that the update is done by using the RS232 cable and my quesiotn is will a normal RS232 cable do the job for the update ?

    any advice is appreciated .
