I have been out of the loop for a while. Is Ritek still the best dvd-r media to use? I have been backing up some movies on these cheap memorex pink dvdr's and I have noticed after watching the movie a couple of times, it starts skipping. I am wondering if its my 6 year old dvd player? or if its these cheap disks that easily get scratched and ruined. Anyway, what is the best media to by right now? This? http://www.shop4tech.com/user.htm?go=view_item&id=2546&cata=&s_cata=
ive been using 16x +r verbs for about a year now, and i cant tell the last time i had a coaster. i burn at 8x and bootype to dvdrom.
@acousty Go with the Verbs like gamename said or Taiyo Yuden. The Ritek GO5's starting giving me problems - just my experience. I haven't used them in about 2 years. Check out http://supermediastore.com too. You can get better prices on media there - usually run specials with free shipping.
I would say the best medias to buy right now are Taiyo Yuden(own brand or under other brands such as Sony,Fuji,Verbatim)followed by Verbatim(MCC)and then Maxell(MIJ). But i personally use TY Verbs which i find amazing,no problem and not a single coaster till now.I'm done with using cheap and crap medias like before, using cheap medias,it's always problem here or there, now or after, always a headache. Vincent.
1. Ty's 2. Verbs 3. Ritek G05's My usage is in order listed and I've had no coasters with any. When I first started to back up my movie collection, I used anything available. I know I am going to have to do some remakes and will probably use Ty's mostly. Later George
