Which encoder do some of you more experienced users find produces the best results for animations (cartoons, not CG)? I am going to be backing up the Flintstones Seasons 1 - 5. I have CCE, Procoder, and HC... I will eventually be doing my own testing, but I need to make back-ups for my niece and nephew, and they will only be in town for two days, so time is of the essence!!! Thanks in advance!
teflonmyk I don't know first hand but I'm assuming it's pretty low bitrate stuff, thus I would personally reccomend pro2 it does extremely well w/ my animations which are mainly cg but also include some of the classic "real" animation. but since you are in a hurry and I know you like cce I would try out rme http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=24 it will let you test encode just a cell @ a time and then view it. thus saving hours of testing. this plug-in will let you tinder w/ different bitrates and filters (undot & deen) as well
remember you can alway's stop/abort the encode after the first segment and view the avs file to check for quality, and then pick up encoding, when satisfied, where you left off. but this is similar to doing what rme does internally and comes w/ more matrices and allows you to capture matrices from different sources.
