Would anyone recommend this: Etymotic Research HF5 Portable In-Ear Earphones?

If not, would you have anything to say for these:

    Creative EP-630 In-Ear Headphones
    Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds
    Etymotic Research ER20 High-Fidelity Earplugs
    Skullcandy S2INBT-UB INK'D Earbuds
    JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds
    Coby CVE92 Isolation Stereo Earphones

I alway go for the cheapest. The difference between the most expensive and the least is marginal if any. I have never seen a bad in the ear bud. Most have the same range 6-22,000 Hz. I just bought some Sonys for $15. They compair well to the Bose that go for $100 and actually cost $60 when they came out 5 years ago.

They all have about the same technology. That technology is amazing. Once you hear in the ear it is hard to go with anything else if you can tolerate them. I use mine constantly and I wear out the wires so I try to make sure they have the soft wires.

While checking your responce, your welcome, I notice 2 were linked and one of the linked sells expensive junk. These were no exception. I was wrong that all in the ears are the same. The creatives are the STD in the ear buds which have an amazing range. Some care is needed when you shop.

All in the ears are isolating, noise reducing, etc

HiFi is outside 20-20,000 Hz. range
We lose the high end with age by 20 men can't hear 18,000 by 60 we can't hear 10,000. If you are over 18, the highs are not all that important but we can always feel the lows. The lows are much more difficult to reproduce.

Anyone, no matter how old, with a trained ear can tell the difference between these two.

    Sennheiser CX 300 18 Hz - 21 Hz SUCK
    Creative EP-630 6 Hz - 23000 Hz GOOD

I haven't cracked them out yet and hopefully will not till the end of the year. They look very much like what I have now. They have the same type and size magnet and silicon seals. I will be shocked if the sound anydifferent to what I listen to now. Who was shocked was a Bose fan. I doubt that he could tell the difference between mine and his Bose. (Again same basic design)

    I have them on now.

My son needed to borrow some buds so I let him use mine.

They sound like my old which is what I suspected.

They are not as nice as my Phillips for 21 USDs. They have a jack just below the split. I thought it was unnecessary but it comes in handy more often than I suspected. They also have softer wires, softer ear inserts, a nicer split and the short ear wire is longer so the split sits on the sholder insted of dangling from your ear. The Sonys are fine but the Philips are well worth the extra $5. All the differences are subtile and you would have to wear them for a while to appreciate the subtelties.

The softer ear incerts is the biggest difference. Persons that can't tollerate in the ears may tollerate the Philips. My son who can't stand in the ears, was suprised when he put them in. He said he could live with them; they were not too anoying. Not that he had much choice, he either lost or couldn't get to his Zune and he had hrs to kill on a train.

For the other readers, both are behind the neck pods, have gold plated connectors, the thin silicon ear inserts which are more confortable than the other kinds of inserts. Both have amazing fidelity. You really can't go back to Apple style buds after a pair like either of these.

yeah they're pretty decent especially if they are only $15 now. where did you get them? as far as apple goes, you can't rely on apple for anything good, be it software or hardware. apple stuff is just over priced and underpowered crap in my opinion.
