Hello, Can anyone advise on what they think are the best mobile solutions (cd's, usb based) for getting rid of viruses and (if need be) reinstalling the os. Personally I've never used them but I hear there are live cd's or bart pe builds that have good av built into them that can clean up a system well, this sounds good but what about the updates? Thanks
Avira AntiVir Rescue System The Avira AntiVir Rescue System a linux-based application that allows accessing computers that cannot be booted anymore. Thus it is possible to repair a damaged system, to rescue data or to scan the system for virus infections. Just double-click on the rescue system package to burn it to a CD/DVD. You can then use this CD/DVD to boot your computer. The Avira AntiVir Rescue System is updated several times a day so that the most recent security updates are always available. http://dlpro.antivir.com/package/rescue_system/common/en/rescue_system-common-en.exe and check out this removal tool: http://www.avira.com/en/support/antivir_removal_tool.html 2oG
Thanks for the info. Someone else on this site recommended this: http://trinityhome.org/Home/index.php?wpid=5&front_id=12 I don't really understand the update process with these bootable cd's. Do they make a whole new build after each update?
with the Avira Rescue disk, it is updated almost daily and you will need a new disk each time it is used. If you can't find it in your heart to waste a disk each time, do as I do, use a Re-Writable disk and just re-do it. lol
I suppose I don't really need to use them that often so I'll just burn fresh ones when I need them. Cheers.
