What is the best mod chip for xbox? Is playing back up games in xbox the same as a playstation 2? You burn the Xbox game with a dvd burner and play it with your modded xbox?

explain that a little more, do you mean you save the games on your hard-drive? If I get my xbox softmodded than will i be able to do all the things that a mod chip can do?

I have modded 14+ xboxs and I have found the Xecuter 2.6 CE modchip to be one of the best ones for myself, others may argue differently. They have a solderless version of it, which I have tried, but it was a pain lining up the holes with the little pins. I'm good with a soldering iron, and its only like 7 or 8 solder points all together..... well unless you have a version 1.6 xbox. Anyway I found that chip to be one of the better ones.

As far as backing up your games, it doesn't work the same as the PS2. The PS2 DVDs can be read by your PC DVD drive. The Xbox discs however cannot be read by the PC DVD drive. If you find the right software for the Xbox, they have programs that will back up your games directly to the xbox hard drive. Then you have to have your Xbox connected to your network and you can FTP the game files from the Xbox hard drive to your computer, then you can burn those files on a dvd. Once it is burned, that disc can be read by the xbox like it was the original game.

    Hope that helps!

i find that the chip is more dependable. i have a softmod. my friend has a chip; and buying all the parts you need to get the softmod done, its almost as much as hard modding it. unless you already have a memory card; action replay and the needed games + some networking knowledge.

there are times when the softmod glitches out. it gives the 1800 number green screen of death, and sometimes it just locks up. dont know.. must just be mines. If i were you, go with the chip! xecuter 2 or 3!

That article is full o' crap.

I too prefer the reliability of a chip. I have done some odd 20 boxes, and I have found no chip more reliable or easy to install as the Xenium ICE. When it comes to a 1.6, you really can beat the ten minute install of a Xenium S.P.ICE.

Watch the video on their site www.teamxodus.com

The kick one down the stairs and the chip fires right up. No D0 wire bouncing around... no soldering... can't beat it.

The xecuters have a few more fun mods that you can integrate if you are gonna get crazy, though. I would imagine these are just as reliable. The ones I put in never came back.
