best modchip

    i was wondering what modchip you thnk is the best. i have 2 xboxs and i am wanting to install a bigger hard drive and a modchip.

    Try searching next time before asking a basic Q like this dude...

    Good modchips:

    1) Xectuer 2 & 3
    2) Xenium Ice & S.P.ice
    3) DuoX 2
    4) AladdinXT

    Xecuter and Xenium chips offer solderless adapters if you don't want to solder. I would highly suggest the Xecuter 3ce modchip.

    I have both an xecuter 3 and a xenium s.p.i.c.e. and both work great. The xecuter 3 is the best i think, but the spice solderless adapter makes for a quick install, but you can use the solderless adapater on both. The x3 also has a bunch of cool stuff that hooks up to it, like lcd screens and crap like that, its sweet.

    I think the smartXX chip V2 is one of the best modchips

    Ran across a forum of someone saying that they woundn't use a solderless chip was curious to why? I am in the process of purchasing a xecuter 3 ce solderless chip with the Xapt3r. I know it might be a simple question just starting on this forum stuff so honestly it is easier to ask till i figure out this site....

    A solderless chip can come loose. I have a solderless xenium spice. But it is no big deal if it comes loose, you just open up the case and stick the wire back in the hole. Thats the only downside, but its not a big deal. Usually they include a pin header which you can solder in if you have a problem with the chip coming loose all the time. I haven't had too many problems with the solderless chip, it easy and fast to install and remove. Hope that helps.
