I find it a lot easier to just print covers on regular sheets of paper--I have had nothing but trouble with getting images to line up properly on specifically-designed printable DVD covers. Don't know if it's my printer, or the cover programs I use, or my own lack of ability.

Aaaaanyway...what type of paper should I use to look closest to a manufactured DVD cover? Matte, glossy, something else (is there something else)? Does the type of printer make any difference (mine's an inkjet)? I know, it's purely an aesthetic thing, but it bothers me sometimes when I look at my shelf and can instantly tell the manufactured covers from the home-printed versions.

I prefer 32 lb HP Premium Choice laserjet paper. I size my printed image to 10.7 x 7.15 inches and trim off the excess. The printed cover now fits fine in a 14 mm dvd case. I also prefer a laser color printer.
