I have been trying to rip scenes or clips from my dvd's, and I'd like the quality to look just as good or at least as close to the quality on the original dvd itself when it's played in a regular dvd player. I've backed-up dvds before with dvdshrink and dvddecrypter and they look really good but I can't use these programs or at least I don't know how to use these programs to just do clips or scenes. And Dvdshrink and dvddecrypter only do vts files anyways and the video editing programs that I have like Nero start smart and Pinnacle will only use mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 files. Nero will rip dvd scenes and clips but only into it's nero mpeg-4 file format, but that's not good for me because it doesn't work with my other programs like pinnacle and ect. So basically I'm asking is there a program that can rip either copy protected or non copy protected dvds into mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 file format that'll look just as good or at least as close to as good of the quality as the original dvd itself? I'd love know that there's some freeware that can do it but if I'm dreaming then I'll buy it, either way please tell me.
can you not convert vob files into mpeg1/2 using nero express. not done it in a while but i'm pretty sure you could
You can get MagicDVD Ripper and it converts you DVDs into WMV, from there you can edit them or do as you will.
