Trying to get used to new burning program. (Power2Go) Copying audio cd to Verbatim 52X CD-R discs. For music what are good speeds to choose? Choices are from 16X to 48X. And should I check the "Ignore reading error" box? Thanks
For audio, it's safer to record at 24X to 32X speeds. These are lower and safer than the maximum speeds that put a drive on its upper limit but higher than the lowest speeds where a drive may overburn the fast reacting dyes used in 52X discs. If you rip the audio files from a CD to the hard drive before recording--the recommended way--you can leave the "Ignore Reading Error" box unchecked or put a check in it. The ripping program will automatically correct errors. Copying on the fly, from one disc directly to another, is so risky that the box should always be unchecked.
