Best Software to Rip DVD to AVI for media server?

    so since I have it on dvd which is a rip already and works well what else can I do to correct the sync issue? Thanks

    Not sure, you could try vobblanker (free) ~ http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/

    I always do my movies in main movie mode, one benefit to this is that i don't have to mess about figuring out which audio track and subtitles to choose in AutoGK

    For sync problems, I use VirtualDub MP3 Freeze. It's pretty intuitive (for a dummy like me) and free. It works really well when the sync problem is constant. However, for AVIs that start out OK, then gradually get worse and worse, I'm just as stumped as the next guy:)

    I guess there is still no perfect way to get this done free or not.Or too many steps

    Too many steps ?.

    Rip in main movie mode -> AutoGK -> select size of output file -> run AutoGK -> done.

    I meant to get it flawlessly sync everytime. It appears you need another program=more steps

    I've only ever had sync issues with 2 movies, maybe 3, that had been ripped from DVD, and each one of those sync issues was due to the movies not being ripped correctly in the first place. The DVD's played fine though. I just ripped the movies again (using the original DVD's this time) and no sync problems; the 2 or 3 movies were from back when DVDFab was going thru a spell of producing unclean rips.

    my dvd rips have no sync issues just when dvd-avi. The dvds play fine in my player its when i convert to avi

    How could you say such words to me? you can watch those DVD movies using a toaster while you take a shower as long as your toaster has the function of media player.

    No, I do not find it useful, since it cannot rip DVDs that are protected. that's what DVDFab is for, and it does it for free...And as a converter, this one is also free, and converts to about any format:

    Soooo, that makes your expensive program...USELESS, since everything can be done for free...

    haha, you are also a spammer if you think i am spammer. because you have done what i had done. and i want to tell you: SPAM Ripper can easily rip DVDs that are protected. and i also think your dvd rippers is also nice.
