Okay so far I have these programs for making a video dvd to play in a standard dvd player: WinAVI Video Converter VSO DivxToDVD DVD Decrypter DVD Shrink AVI MPEG ASF WMV Splitter MPEG Joiner For the last 2 months, ive been testing different softwares so i can convert, join, and split my RM/RMVB files to a dvd so i can watch it on my dvd player. I was hoping to try and fit at least 5 rm/rmvb files to a dvd. I thought i could at least put 10 rm/rmvb to a dvd disc, but i guess its kinda hard. Each of my rm/rmvb files are about 40 mins each and aruond 130 MB. I try converting 5 files in bath mode with WinAvi Video Conoverter, but when I try to backup into an Iso file using DVD shrink, it would stop at the end saying it doesn't work or something. It was successful once or twice and i was able to watch it on my dvd player, but some parts didn't so up in the middle. So right now, I've been converting all my rm/rmvb files to MPEG format. Now I am going to join 5 or more files at same time. I used MPEG join 1.02, but when i play it, it was the length of one episode. So what is the best software for converting unlimitied mpeg files into one large mpeg file? I used more softwares then what I have now, but most of them didn't work. After I join the mpeg files, I think im gonna convert them to a dvd folder using VSO DIVXToDVD, then use dvd shrink to backup as ISO and burn using Decrypter. What's your way of doing this? I know I could convert the rm/rmvb files using WInAvi Converter, but sometimes in middle of converting, it would stop and when making into dvd folder, each of the folder can only contain 8.9 GB I think. I want it into one folder, don't care if more than 8.9 Gb, i could always use dvd shrink and burn with dvd decrypter. Oh I was also thinking of after I backup each dvd folder with dvd shrink into an ISO file and then combine them using Servant Salamander, but I don't think that's gonna work.
This is how I convert .rm or .rmvb to DVD to watch on my TV http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/222872 btw the shows I convert are usually 45 or 46 min. runtime and they come out pretty good if you only try to get 2 on a DVD. You could try for 3 using DVD Shrink but I think any more than that and the video would be pretty crappy.
