I am building a new computer and was curious what kind of video card to purchase.

I am running an Intel Dual Core 2 E6600 on an Asus P5B Deluxe M/B.

I had been thinking of the ATI All in Wonder X1800 but at 10 inches long, it's too long for my Antec Sonata II case with the P5B Deluxe M/B. =(

I am not really a gamer but I do a lot of multimedia work with DVDs, audio and video...Something versatile and something I can grow with.

    Suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

If you ever plan on going with a dual card setup of any type, than nVidia would beat ATI hands down. There is 1 major annoyances with ATI's iteration of Dual-Card. And it is that to watch movies on your ATI-Crossfire enabled system you must disable Crossfire! Now how redundant is that??? You can run dual card for everything but everytime you go to watch a movie you have to disable it.

u maybe right, ATI would smoke it at some games, thats why some games were developed under NVIDIA and some under ATI, and a little were made for both cards. We all have our own ideas and different cards, and with that come different oppinions. I just wanted to give him a suggestion, and BTW dont get the GTX model of the 7900, its a waste of money. Its below the $300 tag, read the first two collumns of the thread, you'll know what i mean. Just a friendly suggestion for his rig. Thats all. Aight peace
