also just so you know there are alot of other threads under xbox 360 general discussion there is one that is all about the tv your talking about and other samsung and toshiba tvs only
How about Sony KD-34XBR960 or KD34XBR970 ? ... the Samsung TXS3082W is a good tv however i read on different forums that is not that good for gaming . I read about the Samsung LN-S4041D and this tv has a gaming mode designed by Microsoft so when you play the colors and graphics and blacks are just fantastic even for Ps2 and xbox and of course hd gaming contrast ratio 4000:1 and response time is 8ms 2 hdmi imputs but the price is $1350. the reason i asked about the Sonys is because i read that the Tube kind of tv gives the best picture from an analog cable and that's what i have rigt now anyways (don't know when will get it , not any time soon ) i was even thinking about a Sony KD-36FS170 ( non hd tv )but is probably the best tube non hd on the market however i don't know how good this could be with the new xbox and later on the ps3 . I just want the best all aroun tv for ps2 ,xbox ,360 and ps3 lol or the most bang from my buck thanks for your help
I play my Xbox 360 on my Panasonic 50" plasma and it is amazing. The great advantage of a plasma is the wide range of viewing. You can sit anywhere in a room and the picture is still great. Try that with a LCD or DLP TV and you'll be disapointed.
sd72667 wrong buddy. a plasma craps out from side to side angles... maybe you got the " newwer like plasmas" but plasms will still have that issue for a bit more . the best tv is always a crt tube based. zippy255 as long as it a crt tube and its hd tv then its sweet. and crt tubes arent as expensive as crappy plasms. Aroldo : that widescreen set is by far the BEST tv you will ever buy. widescreen is more lie " true " tv... see in widescreen thas how they make everyting. in fullscreen then strech out all 4 angles.. top bottom left and right.... bottom line that tv sounds frekint tight and it is hd right? sounds like a crt tube not sure....
If you are talking about the Samsung TXS3082W yeah it is a crt they call it slimfit from Samsung meaning slimmer tube i guess . The other is Samsung LN-S3251D and is a superb tv is an lcd flat panel the picture is amazing and the style of the tv is very slick but you now lcds are expensive and as far as the Sonys big tvs the picture on those are very good too i ust wonder how good the will be for video games and sports i want to enjoy the Fifa Wold Cup lol Thnks for the help (i am still looking)
yea crt tube are far the best quality tv you can enjoy... they are bulky but i like quality not space saving... and they are alot cheaper and dont suffer angle to angel disapoinments or burn ins... so first try to get a crt tube 2 hd 3 if its possible to get it widescreen ( 16x9) then ur set for the best tv... the slim fit are good ones... i'v seen them.., but the sony wega? 34'' or so that are big bulky ones on circuit city look all the shizle... reacon looks AAAAMAZING.... LIKE next gen....
Thanks for your help i am considering the big bulky tube tv's i don't have any issues with space plus imo they seem to be like the best all around tvs and they seem to last a long time i really like the Sony KD-34XBR970 $1100 and i saw a KD-34XBR960 at $1080
anoter tip . try to get things only from costco .... they have LIFETIME FULL CASH RETURN POLICY. on everything.. say you buy a crt tube ( if you find any ) you pay 1200 and you get bored of it in 3 years... return it no questions asked and you get your cash back . not store credit or exchange... cash ... its a warranty from them on their entire store . doesnt matter if you get bored of it or it breaks or w/e.... thats whre i got my 360 ... hehehe KD-34XBR960 here is some specs http://reviews.cnet.com/Sony_KD_34XBR960/4505-6481_7-30787600.html CNET editors' review Editors' rating Excellent 8.1 out of 10Reviewed by: Kevin Miller Review date: 8/26/04 Release date: 7/15/04 Average user rating: 8.1 See all user ratings The good: Highest resolution of any consumer direct-view HDTV; independent memory per input; excellent color decoding. The bad: Bulky tube form factor. The bottom line: This is the reference standard for picture quality among direct-view HDTVs and happens to be a great value. Sony KD 34XBR970 http://reviews.cnet.com/Sony_KD_34XBR970_TV_34/4505-6481_7-31692320.html so i think the 960 is better
gus, your wrong, I have a plasma. You have one? I have a crt and a plasma and what data can you provide that says my side viewing will "crap out".
my next door nevoir bought a 60'' plasma... the best their is ... " soppsly" and insted of watching free hd on fox for sunday football , he comes over here and we watch it wayyy better here on my 38'' widescreen 16x9 hdtv 1080i rca F38310 . http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005BIB8/002-2012761-6348826?v=glance&n=172282 and i paid way less then 3 gs when it first came out. i have not repaird anytying to it nor called for any repairs what so ever. because it never has had a problem. and what thats over 3 years of consisitent if not forever use. lol yes i can say plasmas suffer from this problem , see crt tube was the best then ppl wanted space saving and they were making them and it was called sed but it was too early so they came up with plasmas/lcd ... bascily the sed tvs are crt tube quality but thiness of a plasma... bascily next gen .... we will see that somehow this year or next... quatie expensive .... \ but whats your info of your tv???? i gave you mine... i know quite a bit of tech / eletornics... maybe you have the new like silicon based tv... , unless this is somhow new i think this is bs on what you say that you dont see drop quality on side angles.. but again let me see your info sd72667 . and remember i stated that most of the plasmas that are old do this... oviosly with time tech gets better.. so whats the model number of this tv... im dieing to look at it on my local store and if its this good i might even buy it for my room...
Your spelling has given me a headache, LOL. I own the Panasonic TH-50PX50U plasma, which I bought 8-29-05 for $2800. You based your opinion about plasma's from one that you saw at your neighbors house? Did he have it properly calibrated? I researched the different TV's for the last 3 years. Go to a Best Buy, Circuit City or any local Electronics store and compare the Plasma's, DLP's, LCD's, and Rear Projections. You may think you know a lot, but go to this site, http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/index.php? and you will realize you have a lot to learn. Not every plasma is the same. Pioneer, Fujitsu, and Panasonic Plasma's are top of the line from what I have read. What brand is your neighbors?
youre right not every plasma is the same , excuse me for my misspelling. but one thing is for sure every and i mean mostly every plasma suffer from side to side angle quality ... it does not look like if you were in front of it . and no i am not judging peice of crap just based on his but on the entire circuit city , best buy and any store i usualy see a plasma. and trust me this isnt glare im seeing... however the newer tvs are getting this problem fixed... also the sed are the real " plasmas" that were soposed to come out after crt tube. sed are crt quality but plasma thiness , and thats just 1 problem of plasma , then you got life span and image burn ins.. and if things werent getting better IT IS ALOT MORE EXPENSIVE the the crt tubes... so overall its a pain buying a plasma because your sopose to have alot of precations to make sure it last a while... while a crt tube you got no worries plus the reason why your tv doesnt look bad on angles " acording to you" its because its now based on the new tech i think they say its silicon based. its an 05 man... like i said as tvs get newer and so fourth its good... but i wouldnt buy the current gen plasmas period ill just wait sed...... some plasmas are good but the good ones that dont suffer from 1 problem are expensive and you still have image burn ins and other sort of stuff ... too much of a hassle i'd just buy a crt tube.
CRT TV's also have burn in. The life span of a Plasma is no different than any CRT TV. I'm not here to "win you over" about Plasmas, just here to inform you none of your comments are valid. The only TV that is close to picture quality to my Plasma is the Sony •SXRD™ technology. My friend and I looked at the Sony •SXRD™ technology TV and Side viewing was still not good. CRT TV's are a thing of the past.
yes your right crt tube are a thing of the past and the next thing was well is going to be sed , plasmas were mearly a middle thing... overall crt tube best > time > ??? ideal of sed , not enough tech> lower quality problems ?=plasma .... > time > now ???>SED crt tube ----------------------------------------- sed anyting else between is just goods and bads... agree? same here not trying to win im just saying what flaws are and whats the best thing for your 360... my cousin made a mistake of buying a rear projection and i feel bad saying it looks like shit even plasmas are better .... bottom line sed is the next big thing meanwhile crt is still the best and plasma well its just for luxery..
sd72667 : im sorry but there are alot of LCD tv on the market that have a better picture than Plasmas.Plus alot of TV makers have not solve the Burnout issue with Plasma. If any one going to by a Plasma you better get a very i mean very good warrty & that cost to.
DamonDash, What brand of LCD TV's have a better picture than Plasmas? Have you viewed them next to each other? What burnout issue is there with Plasmas? Go to here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=40 and you and Gus give your opinions with a new thread. Your ignorance about Plasmas will be apparent. Before you trash a new technology, please get the facts. I will say that LCD TV's are getting much better with picture quality, but the reasons I didn't purchase one was the lack of side viewing and the black color was not dark enough for me. IMO. Please go to the site I recommended and do some reading, LEARN, dammit LEARN. LOL
avsforum is a must read resource for me especially before I make an equipment purchase. The guys at avsforum.com are industry professionals and serious (maybe even fanatical) audio/video/home theater hobbyists. They really know their stuff. Read and learn.
dblbogey7, finally someone else that reads and learns around here. Ever since I joined AVSFORUM 3 years ago I have become an audio/video/home theater hobbyist. My wife thinks it is a sickness. LOL.
Your wife is probably right! (Just kidding... Good thing I have a pretty good GAF score. GAF = Girlfriend Acceptance Factor
well plasmas will be called sed and be the best tv LATER ... not yet they still sufer burn ins and side to side angles . i mean its true i dont understand why you mb dont aceept it. for now the crt tube is still the best choice when it comes to quality . also even if you buy a warrnty i belive the burn in is not cover and if you poke the screen by aciddent you can kiss your 3+ dollar tv to the garbage.... and im talking about good extened warrntys from circuit city best buy and so on ... WHERE HOWEVER i would buy a plasma or any tv is from costco why? because you pay for what it cost and its LIFETIME FULL CASH RETURN POLICY.... so if you break it or get bored of it in 3 or 2 or 5 years.. no worries just take it back and get full cash refuned... a reciep is not require but it makes it faster to find it on the computer database... if no receip is availbe then you show them your costco membership card and they locate it from there. really i dont get where your going with all this talk ... crt tube 1 lcd 2 and plasma 3 ..... based on OVERALL quality ... true most of plasma look best vs lcd looking in FRONT OF YOU... while lcd i belive it does not suffer from side to side angle or image burn in ....
