I am considering purchasing the WD TV but before I do, I was trying to figure out what the best format would be to rip my DVDs to it. Below is a list of the formats that are compatible with the WD TV and I will be using Handbrake to rip my DVDs so that they can all have chapter splits. Keep in mind that Handbrake does not rip in .avi, unless I'm missing something.

    MPEG1/2/4, WMV9, AVI (MPEG4, Xvid, AVC), H.264, MKV, MOV (MPEG4, H.264)

I have a wd tv and the biggest problem is watching ISO movies without chapter splits, the remote has a 'next' button but isn't recognized by the ISO format.

I guess a solution would be to rip the ISO into smaller 15 minnute increments and place them in a folder, so you can watch them that way and advance to the next file. I hope they include a firmware update soon to fix this problem.

I go this mostly for the mkv support and it is fantastic. I need to find a way to backup these .mkv on some disc so I don't overload my external hard drive with a bunch of 12 gb mkv files.
