Best way to clean my DVD burner...

    Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.I did a search and it got no hits.Can I just put a typical dvd head cleaner in my burner,or should i use something else.Thanks....

    try it to see. i've used a q-tip & isopropyl alcohol on a few drives but had to open the drives to do that.

     ... I've had success using the standard CD/DVD sleaning disc (the one with little brushes on it) As long as you're just cleaning dust (not remnants from a smoker) it's good for routine maintenance ... If someone is smoking you need to remove the cover and Q-tip it as suggested by ddp ...

    Use 99% isopropyl (yes, there are different strengths)as it evaporates the fastest. Dip the Q-tip and shake off excess. Gently...you don't want to move out of alignment.
