i have about 14 divx files all of which are around 160mb. what would you think is the best way to get all of them on a dvd with menus tht would not screw up the quality to bad.
If U have a DIVX DVD Player just burn them with Nero in the DVD [iso mod]that way nothing is lost..I do this all the time you can get a whole season on 1 DVD [example Deadwood all 12 episodes about 750 meg ea ep]..or U can use VSO Divx to DVD..U can make a copulation in the Source File by starting with the last file U want highlight it while holding down the shift key,& while still holding it down go to the next, then the next etc until u have all your needed files, just remember to start with the last to the first or they will be backward..then just select a destination file, hit convert & wa-la just sit back & drink a lot of coffee or watch a couple of movies..cause it do take time
14 movies on 1 disc................. one word DATA using nero, i can make this format, and the menu is aleady built in as soon as you pop in the dvd, you can scroll to what you want, and press play, skip chapters, see the menu.... all provided you stand alone can read divx or even avi for that matter.
Use Tmpg Express 3. import all the files (or as many as you can up2 the limit) it'll convert them all to a mpeg2/dvd file, use an authoring app - i use tmpg Author, it creates menus/chapters too. Then just burn the video_ts folder using Tmpg Authors Dvd writing app.. Easy! Dan
".....U can make a copulation in the Source File...." Now that's cyber s3x taken just one step to far.......lmao )
How long are they and what's the resolution? What kind of quality you can get on a DVD will depend largely on these 2 things. If they're 14 half hour TV shows (which usually means 20-23 minutes without commercials) I'd recommend converting to MPEG-1 at a resolution of 352x240. It's VCD quality but completely DVD standards compliant. With 14 files you're talking about around 300MB per clip, so depending on how long (and what resolution) the source files are you may not get good quality no matter how you do it.
gear79, i burnt 12 or so episodes (roughly 350mb each) onto DVD using VSO CopyToDVD as data and when i put it into the standalone dvd player it wouldnt play, the dvd player kept saying there was an erorr. Even though, it gave me a list of files that occupy the disc. The dvd player can read DivX and all kinds of dvd formats. When i put the DVD into the dvd drive on my computer it loads and all the files are visible, and can be played correctly when i copy and paste it onto my hard disk. So can you tell what i've done wrong? Thanks in advance for any replies.
rick5446 as i have a divX player, how easy is it to burn 12 or so episodes, as an ISO MOD? I can use the splash screen that comes up when you load Nero, and select ISO cant i? Do i then just add the files? Thanks in advance for any replies.
Since you're putting Divx files straight to disc (ie not authoring DVD-Video) I'm moving this to a more appropriate forum
